Our Story

We built the app
we wished existed.

SoapBox started with a simple conviction: faith is better together — and community shouldn't require a Sunday morning commute to happen.

"SoapBox exists to connect every believer to a community of faith — on campus, at church, and everywhere in between."

We started SoapBox because we kept seeing the same problem: people who loved God but felt disconnected from a real faith community. College students arriving on a new campus. Young professionals in a new city. People quietly asking hard questions about faith, but having nowhere safe to ask them. Pastors doing incredible work with tools that were a decade out of date.

So we built something better. An app where community happens daily, not just weekly. Where your church is in your pocket. Where a student in Austin can pray for someone in Atlanta in real time. Where a church planter in Phoenix can run their whole ministry from an iPhone.

And where anyone — believer, skeptic, or curious — can explore faith at their own pace, privately, without judgment.

He has led ventures across fintech, social platforms, and enterprise software — from early-stage startups to publicly traded companies.

His faith journey and his experience watching the next generation drift away from the church led him to a conviction: the problem wasn't belief — it was belonging. Young people were spiritually hungry but socially disconnected, and the tools available to churches and believers were decades behind where people actually lived their lives.

Alan founded SoapBox Super App in 2023 to close that gap — building a modern, mobile-first platform that meets believers, explorers, and church leaders where they already are. SoapBox is his most personal venture: one that combines his professional expertise in product and platform-building with his deep personal commitment to faith and community.

He is based in Santa Barbara County, California.
